BrewCraft 80 Shilling Scottish Ale Kit
In Scotland hops were historically rare or expensive, and beers brewed there were balanced toward malt. Cooler ale fermentation temperatures and lower attenuation also meant heavier, slightly sweet beers. Also, beer in Scotland was taxed according to the amount of grain that went into making it, and therefore the resulting alcoholic strength. This beer kit keeps those traditions alive. For best results, ferment at 62-64°F to create a beer low in fruit esters, high in malt body. Secondary fermentation may take up to 2 weeks.
